Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Asheville, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across North Carolina run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ3 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (828) 585-2437. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is ponsthai.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 339 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Asheville follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I never leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. I've never gotten food from here before. I arrived at 5:00 p.m. when it opened, to place and pay for a simple takeout orderβrice and soup. I asked the one person working, how long it would be, and she turned away (should have been a red flag). After waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes, attempting unsuccessfully, several times, to get the lady's attention as she was deliberately ignoring customers coming to the ordering window. At that point, I walked into the kitchen, asked to cancel my order since I wasn't willing to wait what I could anticipate, four or more hours, she told me she couldn't cancel the order, so I left without any food and without a refund. Another customer who had been waiting an hour+, also left, upon hearing this. I understand that restaurants can get busy, and I'm glad to be patient when there's communication and reasonable expectations. However, waiting two hours+ for an order with no estimated completion time and no option to cancel or receive a refund, is simply not acceptable. I hope the restaurant improves both its order management and customer service.

Food was always great when I went. Moved away from the area and I still crave it! A little bit of a wait, depending on when youβre ordering. So order ahead and add 10mins, so you know your food will be ready.

I paid $110 to stand in a convenience store for an hour and get nothing. They took my money, but not my order--twice, in the same day. I ate here twice before and it was great, no issues, I thought i had found a new go-to. Then I placed a large online order and my name never showed up in their system. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered all three meals again, only to have the same thing happen, and be brushed off with "if you didn't order, I didn't cook."

Iβve seen a lot of reviews mentioning the wait time, and I think itβs important to set the right expectations. This is not fast foodβ¦.itβs a small kitchen, and everything is made fresh to order, often by just one or two people. If youβre expecting quick, in-and-out service, this may not be the place for you. That said, the food is absolutely worth the wait!! I came in with my mom and brother, and we ordered 3 appetizers (Chicken Satay, Crab Cheese Rolls, Hot & Sour Shrimp Soup), 3 entrΓ©es (Larb - Pork, Sesame Chicken & Pad Thai), Dessert we had coconut sticky rice with mango and Thai tea. Everything came out hot, fresh, and incredibly flavorful with large portions. My mom is Thai, and I grew up in a large Thai family, so I donβt say this lightly, this is truly authentic Thai food. It honestly reminded me of homecooked meals. If you come in with a little patience and the right mindset, youβll have a great experience. The quality of the food easily earns five stars.

This place is in the gas station. Thatβs why I only gave the atmosphere three stars but the food is so delicious and the lady behind the counter was so kind. I will definitely be stopping here again and again. Definitely gonna become one of those places I pick up dinner on my way home. Two entrΓ©es and an order of eggrolls was around $40 with tip :)
